Labouratoire

Labouratoire is inspired by the work of German biologist Ernst Haeckel (1834-1919) whose elaborate drawings of radial forms illustrated his thesis on symmetry and evolution. Intricate embroideries depicting scientific images of jellyfish and other marine invertebrates are presented in petri dishes. This work explores the tradition of dissection and diagrammatic illustration.
